Weekends in Paris

Paris travel publication
Weekends in Paris

Weekends in Paris is an independent travel publication focused on one thing: helping you make the most of 48 hours in the City of Light.

Our editors are repeat visitors who split their time between Paris and other European cities. What started as a personal collection of weekend itineraries has grown into a full set of guides — short, honest, and easy to follow on a Friday-to-Sunday city break.

We publish Weekends in Paris because the guides we wished existed when we first started planning trips — practical 48-hour itineraries with real walking distances, current prices in euros, and honest opinions on which queues are worth standing in — were almost impossible to find. Most "Paris itinerary" pages were either travel-agent fluff or exhaustive lists of every monument in the city, with no advice on what to actually skip when you only have one weekend.

Every itinerary on this site is based on routes our editors have walked, restaurants we have eaten in, and venues we revisit each season to confirm opening hours and prices. When we cannot verify something first-hand — a new museum, a renovated hotel, a freshly Michelin-starred bistro — we say so, and link to a primary source.

What you'll find here:

  • 48-hour itineraries built around real walking distances and metro rides, not theoretical map pins
  • Budget breakdowns in euros, updated each season as Eurostar fares, museum tickets and restaurant prices shift
  • Romantic, family and solo-traveler variants of the core itinerary
  • Neighborhood guides for the Marais, Montmartre, Saint-Germain, Canal Saint-Martin and the lesser-known 11th
  • Day trip ideas to Versailles, Giverny and the Champagne region
  • A growing French phrase dictionary aimed at travelers, not language students

Editorial standards. Articles are reviewed and updated at least twice a year, with a visible "Last updated" date on every page. Hotel and restaurant recommendations are based on personal stays and meals; affiliate or sponsored relationships, when they exist, are disclosed inline. We never publish AI-generated articles without human reporting and editing on top of them.
